At eighteen I backpacked Europe and took a crappy camera with me. I wanted to make a short film about human interaction, but that never happened. Instead I took on other random projects. I call it people watching.

For ten years of my life I was separated from this place for a variety of reasons. In 2022 was able to make it back for the first time since I was eight. I have few memories to hold on to from my childhood however I vividly remember my grandmother violently slapping a fish across a slab of stone as this is how she would remove the blood and clean it before turning in into a fry or a curry. This scene made me run back into the house before I hurled and is now burned into my brain. While I often used to wish my childhood could have been filled with more memories of this place, I have had months to develop stronger connections than I ever could have as a child and will continue to return as there is no place which could make me feel more at home than Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India.
