The Spiritual Narcissist

Spiritual people seem to have the most problems going on in their lives. They’re so aware and so conscious that they wrack their brains up with thoughts and analytical observations that drive them to a fine line between spirituality and insanity. Yes the spiritual man is aware, aware of what I do not know. Perhaps it is a sense of god or an unwavering faith in the universal consciousness of life but since the universe clearly has their back they seem to care about absolutely nothing. An almost nihilistic point of view comes from spiritual people because whenever something happens in life their only response seems to be “everything happens for a reason” or even better “it just is what it is.”

Their intellect is so sharp that they question everything, constantly pondering and changing their mindset towards each new thing they learn. In the end everything adds up to the conclusion that nothing matters. We are simply here to live and experience this world so whatever happens just know it doesn't matter and deal with it. Sure you just experienced the worst trauma of your life but it is a life changing experience that was meant to happen for a specific reason. You are going to change as a person because of it, in the end it’s good for you. Don’t be sad and wipe those tears away! It does not matter!

The ego is the driving force of mankind, each man has his own ego but it seems the babies of the spiritual world love to exacerbate how much more they know about life than others. Meditate, revise yourself, cleanse your chakras, and then tell everyone how you do these things. In sum it is the ego that drives away spirituality and there is no true progression until the ego slowly dies. You may be ascending levels of consciousness but when the ego is shooting out of your head in all different directions you are also ascending levels of self centeredness. Because spiritualists are so strong headed and have a high sense of self esteem it is easy for them to dismiss their own issues within themselves and pretend they have mastered their energy. This causes passive aggressiveness and the tendency to exert your own inner trauma onto others without knowing it.

“I am a spiritual person,” no you are not, you are someone who has discovered there is more to life than the material world most people are trapped in. You are someone who has discovered that you are a being of energy who is not your physical body and do not know how to separate the mind from the soul, so instead you bathe in your own intellect and traverse the line of psychic and psychopath. If it has not been clear at this point, I have written 459 words of invective against myself and perhaps many others, yet nothing will change until I continue to torture my mind with the gravity of existence and the polarity between mind and soul.
